I also tend to think that the 3040T is good. You should however be cautious as there are some with water cooled spindle which normally reduces the functioning of such machines.

The importance of a thread is to preload the bearings. Have you checked to see how much thread is left? I am also not sure if it could be easy to rethread given that it might be hardened. Is the lockout not covered by enough thread?

I cant seem to get what you are asking for. But for mach 3 to work well, you will need to have install the right ESS plugin

Once the handsaw table is tilted to the right, you can comfortably cut out the left side of every toot. This will make the teeth get somehow narrow towards the bottom.

Step 5: Set the table of the handsaw.
Set the table of the handsaw to approximately 5 degree angle. Setting it at a 5 degree angle gives the gear teeth a slit bevel, thus making it run smoothly. It is not a must though to do so.
