Hi Guys,
I find it important that we remind ourselves some things. All of us in one way or the other must be handling a CNC machine and our safety in handling the Machines is very Important. Just as a recap, lets remind ourselves some of the unbreakable safety rules in handling CNC machinery. Lets go...

I concur with you guys. It is important to remind ourselves about some things though they may sound obvious. One of the rules that I know is that: One should operate a CNC Machine(s) which he or she is trained to use. Do not operate any machine that you don’t know how to use even if you know some things about it. Little training doesn’t mean you can operate a machine.

These rules are actually important and should be observed. I have had one case in my company where the work of half day work went to waste because of poor finishing setting. I latter came to learn that the employee who was in charge was going through a rough time with his family. He was stressed up eve during the work and he forgot the right settings. So, mental sobriety is important in handling the machinery

Never leave a machine running and leave the room. Make sure that there is at least one person manning the operation. Nothing can really happen, but machines are machines, they may break down or fail to work right.

I have lost an eye. Guess what happened! I was hit by a screw that was in the bath of the bit. I always checked for them before operating the machine. Then one day I forgot and that is when the unfortunate happened. DO NOT LOSE AN EYE TOO

Sorry TIgTag. It must have been painful. I am now cautious when handling the machines than ever.

I have been there too. But I was lucky the screw hit me just above the eyebrows. Keeping the safety rules is a serious and important factor in CNC.
